Srinagar, April 10: Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari made significant announcements in Srinagar on Monday saying that projects worth Rs 1,25,000 Crore are being proposed for Jammu and Kashmir.
“In the next ten years, and that the UT’s road network will match with that of the United States”, he added.
Talking to reporters on the side-lines of a press conference in Srinagar, Gadkari, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that in J&K, projects worth Rs 1, 25,000 Crore are being proposed that includes tunnels, roads, and highways.
He said from Khanabal to Chandwari in Pahalgam, two lane roads will be constructed to facilitate Yatris while as from Panjtarni to Cave shrine of Amarnath, a tunnel will also be constructed with all pilgrim protection facilities.
The Union Minister said that on Mughal road, a two-lane road will be constructed and at the Peer Ki Gali, a tunnel will also come up to make the road an all weather road.
