Travel trade associations welcome Syed Abid Shah’s appointment as Secretary Tourism; hail Sarmad Hafeez’s contribution

Srinagar, March 6: Prominent travel trade organisations of Kashmir have welcomed the appointment of Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah (IAS) as Administrative Secretary, Tourism Department, government of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a joint statement to Ziraat Times, the heads of TASK, TAAK, JKTA, ATOAK and PILTOF said Dr Syed Abid Rasheed’s appointment is a welcome step as the dynamic officer is capable of handling the top job of the tourism sector in an effective manner.

The travel trade bodies have assured him of full support from travel and hospitality sector stakeholders for the promotion of  tourism.

They also hailed the contribution of Sarmad Hafeez, IAS, to the tourism sector, stating that his leadership has helped tourism sector reach to newer heights during a difficult time of the pandemic and overall business slump.
