PHDCCI Kashmir holds its EC meeting at Srinagar

Srinagar, March 22: The Kashmir chapter of the national apex industrial trade body, the PHD Chamber Of Commerce & Industry,  held 2nd Executive Committee meeting at Amarsingh Club here today.

The meeting was chaired by A P Vicky Shaw along with Arshad Shawl and Javaid Anim. The other members who attended the meeting was Nasir Shah, Himayu Wani, Er Pervaiz Qalander, Er Bilal Ahmad Bhat- Retired JKAS Officer, Madeena Mir, Dr M Y Kawoosa, Haleem Bhat, Nasir Ahmad Rather, Er Owais Raja and Mr Shah from Veeno’s Furniture.

The meeting discussed important J&K related matters. An overview of membership status, which included new members and star members, was shared.

Past events and upcoming meetings, status of 1st Kashmir Hunar Mart and Industrial Expo, sports, and engagement with the UT government and G20 were discussed in detail. Some of the new members from industrial estate Khonmoh namely Shabir Ahamd Bhat of JK Technos and Mukhtar Khan of Gulberg Cold Chain Lassipora were introduced to members of the Executive Committee in Kashmir. The members discussed the agenda points and the domain experts put their views for adopting the new industrial policy, issues of existing industry, Investment in IT sector, creating job avenues, sustainable and green tourism, smart city project, free medical camps for poor and marginalised , banking issues, a spokesperson of PHDCCI said after the meeting.

“The members came to a consensus that  as responsible citizens are Sensing a growing awareness that J&K has entered a new era, we underscored that our community has reached a time of a paradigm shift”, the spokesperson said.

“Because the movements, the adjustments, reforms that we see around us cannot be called mere modifications any longer:  they are significant transformations in the making. We need to work in cohesion with the government and have to improve the ease of doing bussiness at every level of our governance”, the members resolved.
