Kashmir Angel Network and Wadhwani Foundation launch accelerator program for startups

Srinagar, March 2: Kashmir Angel Network (KAN) and Wadhwani Foundation have launched an acceleration program to support startups in J&K. The program will provide startups with mentorship, and access to networks and resources and provide an opportunity for the Startups to pitch their ideas to investors across the country to help them grow and succeed.

According to a media statement of the organisation, the startups that had submitted applications to participate in the acceleration programme were given their first one-on-one screening today, for selection to the program.  More than 15 startups participated in the one-to-one programs today, however, the registration link has been kept open for one more week to give an opportunity for more startups to participate in the program. The goal of the programme is to provide early-stage companies with support through the provision of a structured programme that is both free of charge and enabled by the National Entrepreneurship Development through the Wadhwani Entrepreneurship Program. This structured programme assists early-stage entrepreneurs by helping them establish a compelling value proposition, sustainable business model, financial stability, and verified Prototype. Also, the program gets them ready to present to early-stage investors and other financing program.

KAN, an angel funding organisation based in Kashmir that was established to foster entrepreneurship, is excited to announce its partnership with the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) to launch a new acceleration programme to support and foster the growth of innovative businesses. KAN is also proud to announce that it was established to foster entrepreneurship. By this partnership, KAN is demonstrating its dedication to being a driver of advancement and innovation in J&K, the statement added.

The Acceleration program, which is a joint initiative between KAN and NEN, will provide participating entrepreneurs and startups with access to a network of industry experts, opportunities for mentorship, and cutting-edge resources to assist them in scaling their operations and achieving their goals. This is a structured programme that will assist early-stage entrepreneurs to establish a compelling value proposition, sustainable business model, financial stability, and proven Prototype. Also, it will get them ready to be able to pitch to early-stage investors and other financing programmes.

The Wadhwani Foundation is a charitable organisation whose mission is to encourage and support innovative business practices and entrepreneurship in developing countries. The Foundation is contributing to the industry’s expansion and the development of new prospects because of the relationships it has established with KAN, a media statement by KAN said.

The program is designed to help startups overcome some of the common challenges they face, such as raising capital, building a strong team, and scaling their business. The goal is to help startups become successful and sustainable businesses that can contribute to the growth of the Indian Startup ecosystem, the statement added.

This program is another example of the growing interest in supporting startups in J&K, which has become a hotbed for innovation and entrepreneurship in recent years. With the support of programs like this, J&K-based startups have the potential to make a significant impact on the economy as well, the statement further said.
