Handicrafts Deptt Kashmir kick-starts 30-day exhibition in Srinagar

Srinagqr, March 23: The Handicrafts & Handloom Deptt Kashmir kickstarted a 30-day exhibition today on the sidelines of the Tulip Garden, Srinagar.

The exhibition  was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir V K Bhiduri (IAS) and was accompanied by Director of Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir, Mahmood Ahmad Shah (JKAS).

The Handicrafts and Handloom Exhibition will showcase a wide range of exquisite handcrafted items including Pashmina Shawls, PaperMachie, Leather and many more. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire and purchase unique and beautiful items of handicrafts directly from the artisans themselves.

The exhibition is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of our division and a tribute to the hard work and skill of our artisans. It aims to promote traditional crafts, support local artisans, and provide a platform for them to showcase their work to a wider audience.

During the inaugural day, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir visited various stalls and interacted with the artisans/weavers.

Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the regular conduction of exhibitions at these places ,where people from different parts of India and outside ,visit to explore the beauty of Kashmir. He said that this would result in the gross sale of Handicraft and Handloom Products and would ultimately result in enhancing the economy of Artisans/Weavers.

The Handicrafts & Handloom deptt. invites all art lovers, collectors, and enthusiasts to visit the exhibition and appreciate the beauty of our rich cultural heritage.
