KCCI elections set for 21 February, voting venue is Emporium Building, Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 16: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) elections are all set to be held on 21st February after a gap of more than two years. The historical and apex chamber of Kashmir will elect members of the Executive Committee, key office bearers and its new president.

The chamber has issued a formal notification today citing the directions of J&K High Court and the facilitation of the Election Committee. The notification, a copy of which has been made available to Ziraat Times, said, “In view of the directions of the Hon’ble [J&K] High Court and the meeting held by Election Committee with Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar on 16th of February, 2023, notice is hereby given that election of [the] Executive Committee of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Inc.) will be held on 21st of February, 2023 (Tuesday) from 10.00 a.m upto 3.00 pm. The venue of the polling will be Kashmir Government Arts Emporium, Emporium Building, Residency Road, Srinagar.
The counting of votes shall commence immediately after conclusion of polls at 4.00 pm and the election results shall be declared on the same day.”

The notification further reads, “Further, Annual General Meeting shall be convened on 22nd of February, 2023 (Wednesday) at 11.00 am at KCCI office, Residency Road, Srinagar to announce the result of the election of the members of the Executive Committee and to elect the names of the office bearers by the elected members of the new executive committee and the president will read his address.”
