Environmental Policy Group hails Adv Nadeem Qadri’s appointment to Forest Development Authority

Srinagar, Jan 29: Environmental Policy Group (EPG) has hailed the Jammu & Kashmir Administration for appointing reputed environmental activist and founder Environmental Policy Group (EPG) Advocate Nadeem Qadri as a member of UT Forest Development Authority.

“EPG believes that with Mr. Qadri’s legal acumen , deep knowledge of environmental law and long time association with environmental issues he will play a constructive role in conservation of natural resources in general and forests in particular”, Faiz Bakshi
Convenor of EPG said in a statement to Ziraat Times.

“It may be mentioned that our natural resources have been under severe threat over the years leading to deforestation, destruction of forest areas causing unimaginable harm to eco system against which Environmental Policy Group (EPG) has been fighting a battle in J & K High Court and other foras in which Nadeem Qadri has played a significant part . His inclusion in the Committee will strengthen our position in this regard”, Mr Faiz said.
