Srinagar, Dec 27: After a relatively long dry spell in Kashmir valley plains, some snowfall is likely in the mountains and plains of Jammu & Kashmir this Thursday and Friday. 

Analysis of multiple data by Ziraat Times related to the extent of cloud cover, cloud density, wind speed and direction probabilities, humidity and temperature differentials, here is the detailed weather outlook for Kashmir and Jammu regions for the coming Thursday and Friday:

North Kashmir areas –
Late afternoon snowfall is likely to start in highlands of North Kashmir areas of Kupwara, Baramulla, Rafiabad, Uri, Sopore, Bandipora, Lolab Valley, Karnah, including Razdan Pass, Gurez and Sadhna Pass areas. Snowfall is likely to continue throughout the night in most parts of north Kashmir. Lower parts of Uri, Baramulla may experince rainfall during the period.The total snowfall expected on Thursday and Friday in North Kashmir areas may range between 3 inches to 1.5 feet.

The Southern parts of Kashmir valley in Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian districts, from Verinag, Pahalgam, Kulgam, Damhal Hanjipora, Kapran, Shopian, Pir ki Gali, Bafliaz, Verinag areas would receive rainfall and snowfall starting Thursday afternoon. Snowfall would start late evening and continue for the night in most parts of South Kashmir. The total snowfall expected on Thursday and Friday in South Kashmir areas may range between 2 inches to 1.5 feet.

Pirpanjal mountain range and karewa areas in Budgam, Pulwama, Baramulla districts along the range from Yusmarg, Gulmarg and Kandi Baramulla is likely to receive between 4 inches and 1 feet of snowfall.

Central Kashmir valley plains, including Srinagar city, Zabarwan range, Dara-Harwan, Dachigam Park and Mahadev mountain areas, Ganderbal, Kangan, Sindh valley and Sonamarg are likely to receive rainfall and 2 inches to 10 inches of snowfall.

Upper Bhaderwah, Upper Kishtwar, upper Doda, Sinthan Top, Margan Top and Wadwan valley are likely to receive snowfall between 6 inches to 1.5 feet.

Banihal, upper parts of Ramban, upper Rajouri and Poonch are likely to receive rainfall and light snowfall ranging between 4-6 inches.

Saturday onwards weather would clear up across Kashmir and Jammu regions.
