Srinagar, Oct 25: Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) held its Annual General Meeting at FCIK House, Sanat Nagar today. According to a statement issued to Ziraat Times, Secretary General Ovees Qadir Jamie said that the Unit holders across the Kashmir valley participated in the meeting which includes all Industrial Estates & Districts of Valley. Mr Jamie in his welcome address to members of FCIK also shed light on various industrial issues, polices and FCIK’s approach on the redressal of the issues.
President FCIK Shahid Kamili addressed the house and informed the members about the achievements of the industrial chamber in the last two years and the progress of the FCIK on various fronts in redressal of the industrial issues faced by the unit holders.
He said that it has been tough over the last few years in view of the reorganization of the state and back to back pandemic. Further, various policies have changed and these have not been in favor of the industry. So we have been committed and put our efforts for redressal of these issues.
The unit holders deliberated on the vital issues of the Agenda which includes Passing of Minutes of previous AGM, Financial accounts & other issues. The main focus of the AGM was the amendments made in the constitution and its adoption. The FCIK has earlier framed the Constitution Review Committee (CRC) to draft the constitution for the smooth running of FCIK and to eliminate the ambiguities. The Draft constitution was presented in the AGM before General body and it has been debated in the meeting after Hon’ble Speaker through it open for debate. The members presented their view & suggestions and asked the CRC for clarification on some of the vital points mentioned in the constitution. After a debate on the same the CRC member Syed Shakeel Qalandhar addressed the house and provided clarification of the draft proposal. The Speaker Manzoor Qadri put the new amended constitution to vote before the house and the same has been approved in favor by the house.
The FCIK in AGM also framed the nine members Election Commission to hold the election as per approved new constitution. The Election Commission will be headed by Nasir Bukhari and other members includes Nasraullah Jan, Showkat Ahmad, Mumtaz Gilani, Ayaz, Arshid, Imran Najar, Mr Khalid & Mr Naseer.
The term of the Administrative Council has expired and it has been resolved in the house that the President FCIK Shahid Kamili, Secretary General Ovees Qadir Jamie and Secretary Finance Altaf Ahangar will be care taking body of the FCIK till the election process is completed.
Further, it has been resolved that the four past presidents will be advisors to the FCIK which includes Mehraj Qureshi, Syed Shakeel Qalandhar, Zahur Bhat & Mohd Ashraf Mir. The Hon’ble speaker presented vote of thanks to the members for their participation in the AGM.
