Srinagar, September 24: World Pharmacy Day was celebrated at SKIMS here with the international theme “Pharmacy United in Action For A Healthier World.”
Director SKIMS, Prof Dr Parvez Koul was the chief guest. On the occasion Mr Koul addressed the pharmacists and endorsed their contributions in the services of drugs and pharmacy he also spoke about the importance of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Sciences in the contemporary challenging times.
Dean Medical Faculty also graced the occasion and envisaged for the awareness at community level about proper usage of drugs. He said pharmacist can play a key role in guiding and advising the patients in using medicine properly which can prevent over use of drugs prevailing in our society.
The other eminent personalities who were present at the function include Mr Farooq Ahmed Wani Superintendent Information and Technology Dept of SKIMS who applauded the dedication and work of pharmacy professionals of SKIMS. The event was organized by Chief Pharmacist Ms Rehana Parveen and hosted and moderated by Mohi Durakshan.
Senior Pharmacist who spoke about the significance of organizing such events. The interesting part was that of cake cutting ceremony. The cake was decorated as per 2022 theme of World Pharmacy Day. Certificates of appreciation were distributed among the Pharmacy Professionals of SKIMS and the Interns from various colleges and Universities of India who are in completion of their Internship in Drug and Pharmacy services at SKIMS.
