Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, Sept 29: President, All Jammu and Kashmir Wholesale and Retail Mutton Dealers Association, Khazir Muhammad Regoo, has requested Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole to help clear all stranded Srinagar-bound trucks of livestock stopped presently between Madhopur and Udhampur at various places.

“Thousands of livestock-laden trucks from outside Mandies are halted along the National Highway. The truck drivers complain that their movement has been completely blocked posing danger to livestock and potential to cause massive losses in crores to traders if situation is not resolved in next twelve hours”, Mr Regoo said in a statement to Ziraat Times, adding that this “traffic mess has a potential to create a huge crisis as shortage of stock during peak marriage season poses danger to the livelihood of dealers as they have already entered into agreements with customers for supply of mutton on marriages.”
