Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, July 16: Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) has expressed serious concern over the chaos being regularly witnessed at Srinagar airport due to the huge rush of passengers.

In a statement to Ziraat Times, TAAK said long queues of passengers for baggage checking and bumber to bumper traffic at drop gates has brought the airport to a standstill causing immense stress to the travellers.

President TAAK Farooq A Kuthoo said the Srinagar airport is running beyond its carrying capacity at present however no expansion or extra arrangements have been put in place by the Airport Authority to ease the rush especially for departures.

TAAK said huge rush of travellers and Yatris has caused huge stress at the airport which authorities need to manage with extra manpower and machinery.

TAAK urged the LG Administration to impress upon the Airport Authority of India and central government for the mega expansion of the airport so that it meets the international standard and is compatible with the current rush of the arrivals and departures.
