J&KPSC: Satish Chandra takes oath as new Chairman

SRINAGAR, JUNE 16: At a ceremony held today at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, Satish Chandra was sworn in as the new Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission. He took and subscribed to the oath of office before Lieutenant Governor,  Manoj Sinha.

Several major political parties in J&K have expressed their reservation on this appointment, arguing that “it would have  been preferable to have an individual on this post from J&K, with varied knowledge of the local human resource context.

Those who were present at today’s oath taking ceremony include Nitishwar Kumar, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor conducted the proceedings of the Oath Ceremony.
Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner, (Additional Chief Secretary) Agriculture Production Department; Administrative Secretaries; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, IGP Kashmir; members of JKPSC; Chairman JKSSB, besides senior officers; family members and friends of Satish Chandra.
