Kashmir Traders Alliance decries proposed power tariff hike

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, May 12: Kashmir Traders Alliance (KTA) has decried the proposed power tariff proposal submitted by KPDCL before Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission.

President, KTA Aijaz Ahmad Shahdhar in a statement to Ziraat Times said that “the proposed power tariff hike is like adding insult to the injury.”

“Business community in particular and common people in general is passing through tough times due to back to back lockdowns. This tariff hike will create further financial miseries on common people.”

Besides the government won’t be able to generate so much of revenue from this hike as our AT&C losses are highest in the country.

Therefore, in this regard we urge the LG administration to roll back this proposed power tariff hike in the larger interest of the economy.
