Shopkeepers can’t afford CCTV installation expenses: KTMF

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar: Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) today expressed great concern over the recent orders issued by the Srinagar district administration regarding installation of CCTV cameras at all shops of the city.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, KTMF President Shahid Hussain Mir And Patron Mohammad Sadiq Baqal today urged the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar that in view of the Federation receiving a number of representations from various market associations of the city regarding the said order, the order be relooked into.
“The shopkeepers are not in a position to install the surveillance systems in their business establishments as the system costs from Rs. 20000 to 30000 which they can not afford”, KTMF said.
Due to the recent lockdown the business community is already in losses and this is not the right time to them to invest a sum which they cannot afford, they further said.
“It would be the good option if the government itself will install the surveillance systems in all the markets and as in past the government has installed at various vital points of the city”, the Federation further said.
