Srinagar, Mar 29: Jammu and Kashmir Business Confederation has extended support to the ‘one-day token strike call’ given by transporters.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, an emergency meeting of J&KBC was held at Its under the chairmanship of its Co-Convenor, Muhammad Altaf Dar in which issues confronting trade and commerce were discussed.
The governing committee of J&KBC has expressed serious concerns about the pathetic conditions of the transport industry and the government’s apathy towards the sector.
“The issue of non-availability of rural bound transport at prominent business hubs of the Valley like Batamaloo, Lalchowk has hit trade and commerce of these apex business hubs very badly and has also resulted in disengagement of around 40,000 youth who were employed in various business units of these markets.”
“J&KBC’s core body has extended full support for the token Chakka Jam given by the All Kashmir Transporters Confederation,” the statement reads.
Besides Co-convenor M Altaf Dar Rajbagh who spoke on the occasion Include S A Rashid, Mohammad Yaseen Rather, Mir Mustafa Ali, Mohammad Ramzan, Ghulam Mohiuddin Sheikh, Muneer, Popinder Singh, Mohammad Shafi, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and Deepak Maniswala.
