8 shops gutted in midnight blaze at Zaina Kadal; KTMF expresses grief

Srinagar, Mar 30: Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) has expressed sorrow and dismay over destruction caused due to fire at Zaina Kadal Srinagar.

At least eight shops were damaged in a midnight blaze at Gadyar area of Zainakadal in Srinagar. The fire broke out at Zainakadal at around 1 am in the intervening night of Tuesday – Wednesday.

“8 shops were completely gutted in a fire that broke out adjacent to Gadyar Masjid Zaina Kadal. The cause of fire is not known yet”, said Mohd Ashraf Wani President of the Zainakadal Shopkeepers Association in a statement.

Expressing solidarity and sympathy with the affected traders, KTMF delegation on instructions of President Haji Mohammad Yaseen Khan who is out of Valley visited Zaina Kadal early morning to express their concern and sympathy with the fire affected traders and took a stock of the damage caused by the deadly blaze.

The delegation expressed sorrow over the huge loss of property in the tragic fire incident and sought immediate compensation for the fire victims. KTMF impressed upon the Divisional and District administration to assess the damages to property and recompense the losses to traders at an earliest.

The delegation comprised of Manzoor Ah Bhat, Farooq Ah Shah, Lateef Ah Sofi, Raja Fida Hussain Khan, Qazi Tauseef, Ashfaq Ah Mahajan, Mohd Yousuf Lori, Nisar Ahmad & Mohd Iqbal Naqshbandi.
