NLCO expresses gratitude for Mann ki Baat acknowledgment

Srinagar, Feb 28: Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization (NLCO) has expressed its happiness and gratitude about the acknowlegement for the conservation work of Gil Sar and Khushalsar in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann ki Baat program.
“It was so wonderful to learn that the efforts of the community participation in restoring our waterbodies has been greatly mentioned and hailed earlier by H’ble LG Saab and today by Honorable PM in Mann Ki Baat. Now that we are headed off to a great start and have yielded positive results, the million dollar question is sustainability”, Manzoor Wangnoo, chairman of NLCO said in a statement.
“Indeed a proud moment for all the Green Ambassadors who joined hands with Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization’s Mission Ehsaas for rejuvenation of Gil Sar and Khushalsar.
Our Lakes are our identity and part of our culture. From last one year, Mission Ehsaas with various Government Agencies played an important role in Eco-Restoration of Gil Sar & Khushaal Sar.
Today’s formal acknowledgement by Hon’ble Prime Minister in his Maan ki Baat programme about our efforts has added more resolve to our Mission Ehsaas”, Mr Manzoor said.
“The community led conservation effort initiated by NLCO (under mission Ehsaas), and with the help and support from Divisional administration, has made this cleaning operation an example for others to follow. We would be wanting in acknowledging the fact that all this was achieved only with the preservation, commitment & special attention of our Worthy Divisional Commissioner towards the Eco restoration of these twin lakes and for removing the bottlenecks. Kudos and salutes to him”, he said.
We are grateful to district administration and other allied departments especially I&FC, SMC, LCMA & Tourism Department for their help and support, NLCO further said.
