CCIK seeks ban on import of untaxed Iranian apple

Srinagar, Jan 4: The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Kashmir (CCIK) has urged the central government to impose a ban on untaxed Iranian apples.

In a statement to Ziraat Times, President CCIK Tariq Ghani urged the government of India to ban the illegal import of Iranian apple which is being imported without any import duty.

CCIK said due to the import of Iranian fruit these apples are sold at low prices against high-quality Kashmiri apples which have caused a huge loss to the Kashmiri apple trade.

CCIK sort intervention of LG Manoj Sinha to safeguard the interest of fruit growers of J&K. Ghani said it has created a huge loss to local fruit growers and requests GOI to address the concern of fruit growers and traders as earliest as possible.

CCIK also condemns inaccurate action against poor vendors of Baramulla which is a shameful act and demanded stern action against the concerned authorities.
