Pulwama, 22 Dec: A Disaster Preparedness Training was organized by the Civil Defence and SDRF Pulwama, at Govt. Degree College for Women, Pulwama today, in collaboration with NSS Unit, Dept. of Env. Science & Disaster Management of the College.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal GDC, Professor Mushtaq Ahmad Lone.
Trainers from CD & SDRF Ghulam Nabi and Shabir Ahmad Pala imparted the training under the guidance of Ghulam Rasool I/c Civil Defence and Mohammad Maqbool Bhat I/c SDRF.
Dr. Abdul Qayoom Mir HOD Env. Science, Dr. Sami Ullah Qadir Faculty Env. Science and Wassem Ahmad Bhat Faculty Disaster Management coordinated the disaster management training, on behalf of the College.
The training programme was attended by the Faculty members, NSS Volunteers and a large number of girl students of the College.
Practical demonstrations and mock drills were also held on the occasion, which included Fire-fighting, First-Aid, Search & Rescue and basics of Disaster Mitigation.
