CCIK seeks power tariff amnesty, lauds SMC’s anti-encroachment drive

Srinagar, Dec 29: Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) Wednesday urged the LG Administration to grant amnesty in power tariff in favor of commercial and domestic consumers.

CCIK, which held its Executive Committee Meeting with its president Tariq Rashid Ghani in chair, observed that Valley is witnessing unscheduled power cuts causing innumerable inconveniences to the people and business community also.

Ghani said many business establishments don’t have back up power supply and their works are suffering due to frequent power outages.

CCIK urged Power Development Department to supply uninterrupted power supply to business units and if there are any curtailment schedule it should be properly followed.

During the meeting, CCIK also appreciated the SMC Commissioner for clearing the roads of encroachments which had caused bottlenecks for the smooth movement of commuters and traffic as well.

The CCIK also urged shopkeepers to co-operate with the administration in removing these encroachments.
