Agri land decision on J&K ‘plot to serve corporate interests’: Tarigami

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, Dec 17: CPI (M) leader from J&K Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Friday said the latest decision of Jammu and Kashmir administration to allow conversion of agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes is a “plot of the government to serve the interests of corporate sector and real estate.”

“The slogan of development of the BJP is nothing but a red herring. It will adversely impact our food security and be insidious for our economy”, he said in a statement to Ziraat Times.

“The new order paves the way for outsiders to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir and has once again shown the real intentions of the BJP government to revoke Articles 370 and 35A. We oppose the new decision tooth and nail. The only intention to abolish the Constitution of J&K and revoked Article 370 and 35A was to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir. Now with such decisions everything becomes clearer. It is an eye-opener for those who still have illusions with the BJP government’s intentions towards Jammu and Kashmir”, he further observed.
