Petrol, diesel prices in J&K reduced further by Rs 7

Srinagar, Nov 4: In a decision that is likely to bring some relief to people in Jammu and Kashmir, the LG  administration has decided to reduce the petrol and diesel price by Rs 7.

Ziraat Times had in a report on Thursday analysed the adverse impact of high fuel prices on J&K’s economy and pitched for a tax reduction at the state level too.

This will make the price of petrol cheaper by Rs 12 and diesel by Rs 17 in a single go as the central government has already reduced central excise duty.

Lt Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha tweeted, “Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji has given a great Deepawali gift by announcing reduction in excise duty on Petrol & Diesel. In addition, J&K admin has decided to reduce additional Rs.7 on Petrol & Diesel, thereby reducing Petrol price by Rs.12/litre &Diesel by Rs.17/litre in UT from today”.
