Augment cellular connectivity in Gurez: NC

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, 13 Nov: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Saturday impressed upon the J&K administration to address issues relating to poor mobile connectivity in North Kashmir’s border areas.

Sagar said this while interacting with a delegation from Gurez, headed by senior Block President Anwar Shangloo here at the party headquarters Nawa e Subha, Srinagar. Shangloo told Sagar that the people in the far-flung areas of Gurez are grappling with cellular connectivity issues, particularly with regards to the Jio cellular network.

“We were told that improving internet and mobile connectivity were the top priority of the Jammu and Kashmir administration. But the ground situation in Gurez belies such claims. It will not be wrong to say that the government has failed to facilitate telecom connectivity in far flung border areas,” he said.

Impressing upon the govt to appoint nodal officers at district and sub-division level to coordinate with the service providers to review the mobile connectivity, he said communication and telephony are important and administration should take every possible step to ensure people don’t suffer for the want of such amenities.
