Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, Oct 13: Travel agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) in a statement issued to press welcomed the descision of UT government to reduce the value added tax on Aviation turbine fuel.

It may be noted that the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday reduced the value added tax on air turbine fuel to 1 per cent.

President TAAK Farooq Kuthoo said that the price of ATF is a major component of the operating cost of airlines, and the state’s levy on ATF significantly increases its price.
Kuthoo mentioned that it was a long pending demand of tourism stakeholders to put a cap of airfares and reducing value added tax on ATF is a step in right direction which will enhance air connectivity.

If the government makes further efforts by putting a cap on airfares and hotel tariffs ,we will see a large number of tourists visiting Kashmir.
Calling it a new dawn for air connectivity of J&K, TAAK in a statement stressed upon the J&K Government to collaboratively work with Ministry of civil aviation to not just bring the Tourism sector back on track, but also trigger greater economic activity in Jammu and Kashmir.
