World Tourism Day: NTTA holds event at Nigeen Lake

Srinagar, Sep 27: Nigeen Tourist Traders Association (NTTA), in association with Tourism Department, organized several events to commemorate World Tourism Day today.

NTTA members, led by its chairman and eminent philanthropist, Manzoor Wangnoo, held a symbolic march to encourage non use of polythene materials in Kashmir.

An event was also held at the Nigeen Club where NTTA felicitated environmental activists and tourism trade promoters of the area.

“It was an honour to participate in a mega event that was organised today at Nigeen Club Srinagar today by Department of Tourism to celebrate World Tourism Day in association with NTTA. It was delightful to know that the participants resolved to keep the environment clean and waterbodies polythene free, and to keep the hospitality of Kashmir alive for which it is known round the globe”, Mr Wangnoo told Ziraat Times.

“On the occasion, different programmes were conducted in the event and number of people participated in the event. I congratulate Dept. of Tourism, especially Sec. Tourism, Director Tourism and Incharge Nigeen Club Ms. Shaista for holding such a wonderful event”, Mr Wangnoo further stated.

“Our appreciations goes to Dr. Shahnawaz also for organising the event superbly. Our special thanks to TAAI JK Chapter President Zahoor Qari, past President TAAI Shameem Ahmed Shah and Showkat Chaudhry President Hotels & Restaurant association for their presence. I must also thank members of NTTA for participating in the programme”, Mr Wangnoo said.
