Schools reporting concocted fee structure to face legal action: Fee Panel

Srinagar, Sep 17: The Government Fee Fixation Committee (GFFC) of J&K has said that some schools have submitted “false and concocted details” pertaining to their fee structure.

According to news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Chairperson of the Committee Muzaffar Hussain Attar has said that some private schools were charging more fee but in the details submitted to the GFFC, they have submitted fabricated details to evade the actions.

The communiqué of the GFFC states that “A few schools had submitted false and fabricated records with regard to the fee charged by them. However, the figures are much higher than the school managements have actually been charging from the students.”

The GFFC has also said that it appears that a few school managements are either deliberately submitting the ‘wrong or fabricated records for seeking illegal monetary benefits through fraudulent means or carelessly and inadvertently are submitting wrong records.’

The Chairperson said that submission of false or wrong records will have serious implications for the school management.

“It can result in registration of FIRs against the members of the school managements; recommendation for de-affiliation of schools; freezing of accounts of members of School Management,” it reads. —(KNO)
