Policy Advocacy Centre, Mumbai visits Pulwama CA stores, orchards

Srinagar, Sep 28: Policy Advocacy and Research, Centre, Mumbai represented by Vikram Sankaranarayanan (Executive Director) and Ruchita Rane (Project Coordinator), and Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company (Mahyco Grow), Mumbai represented by its Director Aashish R. Barwale, today visited several CA Stores and HD apple orchards in Pulwama district in Kashmir. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (JKAS), Director General Horticulture, accompanied the delegation.

As previously reported, J&K Government signed an MoU with PARC, Mumbai regarding action driven policies, strategic investments by potential investors in horticulture and industrial sectors in J&K.

During their Pulwama visit, the group visited various HD Orchards, CA Stores, Apple Beverage plant, Valley’s 1st Trellis support system manufacturing unit etc. The group also conducted a meeting at Pulwama which was attended by Mohammad Shafi, General Secretary Industrial Association Lassipora, Majid Wafia, President CA Store Association, Izhan Javeed, CEO M/S Fruit Master Pvt. Ltd and representatives of Panchal Agro Fresh Pvt. Ltd, Alnoor Agri Fresh Ltd, besides some progressive growers.

Director General apprised the team about the present scenario of Horticulture in Kashmir and assured the group of all possible support for the uplifment of Horticulture Sector in the valley.

The delegation promised that the companies are committed to help grow the horticulture sector by making investment in establishment of cold chain facilities, marketing of fruit etc.
