DG Horticulture, PARC Mumbai team visit Frutech Infrastructure

Srinagar: Policy Advocacy and Research Centre, Mumbai represented by executive director, Vikram Sankaranarayanan and Project Coordinator Ruchita Rane and Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company (Mahyco Grow) Mumbai represented by its Director Aashish R. Barwale, are on a visit to Kashmir to review the marketing, post-harvest management infrastructure related to Horticulture.
“Director General Horticulture, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat accompanied the delegation. Pertinently, the UT Government has already signed MoU with PARC, Mumbai regarding action driven policies, strategic investments by potential investors to bring ground-breaking transformation in Horticulture and Industrial sectors in J&K,” reads the statement.
The group paid visit to various HD Orchards, CA Stores, Apple Beverage plant, Valley’s 1st Trellis support system manufacturing unit Frutech Infrastructure Pvt Ltd etc.
The delegation appraised the infrastructure created for manufacturing Pre-Stressed concrete poles in J&K and termed this as a significant development towards high density orchard development in the valley. DG horticulture mentioned that now we do not need to import trellis systems as they will be manufactured here in kashmir with state of art technology and will be available to farmers at affordable prices.
“The group also conducted a meeting at Pulwama which was attended by Majid Wafia, President CA Store Association, Mohammad Shafi Gen Sec Industrial Estate Lassipora, Izhan Javeed, CEO M/S Fruit Master Pvt. Ltd , Al -Noor Agri Fresh and other progressive growers. Director General apprised the team about the present scenario of Horticulture in Kashmir and assured the group of all possible support for the uplifment of Horticulture Sector in the valley.”
The delegation promised that the companies are committed to help grow the horticulture Sector by making investment in establishment of Cold Chain facilities, marketing of fruit etc., thereby boosting the Horticulture sector in the valley.
