Farmers’ union to protest against farm laws outside Parliament throughout monsoon session

News Agencies

New Delhi: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Sunday announced that a group of farmers would protest outside Parliament every day during the monsoon session.

During a press conference, the representatives of the farmers’ union said that a warning letter would be issued to all the Opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) urging them to protest against the three farm laws inside the house.

“We will also ask the opposition MPs on July 17 to raise the issue every day inside the House while we will sit outside in protest. We will tell them not to benefit the Centre by walking out of a session. Don’t let the session run till the government addresses the issue,” farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni said.

Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni said that five people each from over 40 farmer unions would join the protest outside Parliament.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha has also called for a protest on July 8 against rising fuel prices.

Parliament gears up for monsoon session

The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) had on Tuesday recommended that the monsoon session of the Parliament be held from July 19 to August 13.
