ZT Weather: Rains, temperature dip, flash floods likely in Kashmir for 4 days

Ziraat Times Weather Update

Srinagar: Heavy rainfall activity, including monsoon rains, in the neighboring regions of Jammu & Kashmir for about a week, starting Friday afternoon, is likely to bring down temperature across Kashmir valley and parts of Jammu region for about a week.

According to varied weather data analyzed by Ziraat Times, scattered rainfall or rain showers are likely in various parts of Kashmir between Sunday and Wednesday. Scattered rain showers are also expected in some areas on late Friday.

Most of the expected rainfall activity between Sunday and Wednesday is likely to happen in shorter intervals of time and not as a widespread rain.

Temperature drop

In view of widespread rainfall activity in J&K’s neighboring regions, especially the two Punjabs, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, and also snowfall in inner Himalayas, Kashmir is likely to have a temperature dip during these days.

Flash floods possibility

The analysed data also suggests that some rainfall activity, especially in Pirpanjal and southern parts of Kashmir on occasions, could be heavy, resulting in flash flooding in streams and rivers in some of these areas.

Advisory for farmers

Farmers are advised to prepare for a situation of intermittent rains and heavy winds and temperature drop during this time.
