Riyadh: Saudi Arabian government on Saturday announced that the Hajj 2021 (1442 Al Hijri) will be restricted to the citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia in view of the pandemic fears.
According to a statement made by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Saudi government has decided to restrict the number of pilgrims to 60,000 Saudi nationals and residents of other countries.
This news has come as a major disappointment to lakhs of aspiring pilgrims from around the world, including Jammu & Kashmir, who were waiting for a positive news this year.
Pertinently, even as vaccination campaigns seem to work in some of the countries in curbing the spread of coronavirus, the deadly virus is still rampant in many countries, with large percentages of countries’ populations still un-vaccinated.
