Gurez: In a series of new initiatives taken by Agriculture Production & Farmer’s Welfare Department Kashmir, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, along with his team of officers visited a number of remote villages of Gurez to have an outreach to the region’s farming communities and to make them aware about the benefits of various centrally sponsored schemes presently being implemented in J&K, an official statement said.
While addressing the public gathering at various places in these areas, Director Agriculture said the successful and effective implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in these far flung areas will lead to a developed and prosperous agriculture sector in future.
The agro-climatic diversity of these areas makes them special and, therefore, a unique approach would be adopted to explore these conditions for crop production, he said and added.
Mr. Iqbal said that the Department is committed for the welfare of farming community, he asked concerned officers to work with utmost commitment and dedication for the upliftment of the farmers of these far flung areas.
During farmers darbar held at Tulail progressive farmers put forth their demands for which Director Agriculture issued orders for their timely redressal. On this occasion Director Agriculture Kashmir distributed farming implements and organic manure among progressive farmers of Tulail block of Gurez.
