Two non-J&K officials appointed members of J&K Water Authority

Srinagar: The government on Friday appointed A Paramesham Chairman of Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) and Kishore Chandra Naik former Chairman Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) as members of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority (J&KWRRA).

In a notification issued by Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, the appointment of two officials as members of J&KWRRA was announced.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 139 of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2020, the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir appoints A Paramesham, Chairman, Krishna River Management Board and Kishore Chandra Naik, Former Chairman, Central Ground Water Board as members of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority”, the order reads.

“The appointment of Members shall take effect from the date they assumes charge of the post in the Authority. The appointment of Mr. A. Paramesham, Chairman, Krishna River Management Board, shall be effected after his retirement from active service on 31.05.2021 or earlier, if he opts for voluntary retirement,” the notification reads—(KNO)
