Floriculture Dept Kashmir earns Rs 4.95 cr revenue in last 2 years

Srinagar: During the last two years, the Department of Floriculture Kashmir has earned a revenue of Rs 4.95 crore, while witnessing a dip of nearly 54 percent in revenue generation as compared to the five financial years from 2014-2019.

The officials of the Department of Floriculture Kashmir said that in past two financial years, there has been a continuous dip of 53.96 percent in revenue generation as compared to the previous five financial years.

According to the official figures accessed by the news agency KNO, between financial year 2014-15 to 2018-19, a total amount of Rs 26.89 crores were generated from various gardens and structures falling under the department.

However, in the past two financial years that includes 2019-20 and 2020-21, a total of Rs 4.95 crores of revenue was generated by the department.

The documents reveal that in the past seven financial years, a total of Rs 31.84 crores were generated by the department.

The breakup-wise figures of Department of Floriculture Kashmir states that in the financial year 2014-15, a total revenue of Rs 434.4 lakhs was generated by the department.

Similarly, in the financial year 2015-16, the department had generated a total of Rs 397.9 lakhs from the various gardens of their jurisdiction.

The figures further reveal that in the financial year 2016-17, a total of Rs 555.6 lakhs were generated by the department followed by the financial year 2017-18 wherein the department had generated a total of Rs 489 lakhs.

According to the official figures, among the past seven financial years, the highest number of revenue was generated in the 2018-19 in which the department made a collection of Rs 812.2 lakhs.

The two weak financial years according to the official figures are 2019-20 and 2020-21 wherein the department of floriculture generated only a total amount of Rs 288.1 lakhs and Rs 207 lakhs respectively—(KNO)
