Srinagar: Haji Abdul Hamid Wangnoo, a renowned tourism player & houseboat owner, passed away today afternoon.

Mr Wangnoo, who had returned from Delhi recently after attending a tourism promotion event, had complained of chest complications and fever, following which he was shifted to Srinagar.

He was also president of Domestic Tour Operators Association of Kashmir.

While at Srinagar Airport he was again tested for Covid and was reported negative for RT-PCR test, his symptoms deteriorated in Srinagar and was admitted to Chest Diseases Hospital, Srinagar.

In a social media message Mr Hamid had expressed disappointment over a lack of reliability of medical care systems and was disappointed for his negative test report at Srinagar Airport. He finally breathed his last the CD Hospital.

His sudden demise has shocked tourism fraternity.

Ziraat Times expresses its profound condolences with the family of Mr Hamid, who will be long remembered for his encouragement and support to this media institution.
