Team CCIK raises tourism sector issues with Director Tourism

Srinagar, Feb 13: An eight-member delegation of the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries-Kashmir (CCIK) led by its President, Latif A. Bhat, called on the Director of Tourism Kashmir, Dr. G. N. Itoo, on 12-02-2021.

In a statement to Ziraat Times, Haseeb Renzu, Secretary General CCIK said that the members of the delegation while congratulating Dr. Itoo for assuming the charge of the Kashmir Tourism, deliberated on the following issues:

a) allowing repairs and renovation works at Srinagar (Boulevard), Pahalgam and Gulmarg

b) reduction in sanitation fee in view of nearly no footfall of tourists

c) renovation of registrations with Tourism Department to be kindly made hassle-free and quick

d) to think of taking care of infrastructure deficiency at newly developed tourist destinations

e) representation of the CCIK on the Tourism Advisory Board, whenever it is formed

f) providing public conveniences at various tourist – interest areas and

g) to kindly do away with the delay in grant of building permissions to educated youth who are interested to develop themselves in the tourism sector especially that in the earmarked hutment area at Sonamarg Kashmir.

Dr. G. N. Itoo informed the delegation about the issues immediately on his hand and appreciated the suggestions made by the CCIK and assured of their possible redressal, the statement added.
