Freeze in on; Srinagar minus 7.6, Pahalgam minus 8.7

 

Srinagar, 17 Jan: Severe frost conditions continued in Kashmir Valley for a fifth consecutive day on Sunday, with the minimum temperature in Srinagar city settling at minus 7.6 degrees Celsius, which is – 6 degrees colder than normal.

Qazigund – the gateway town to the valley – recorded a minimum of 9.0 degrees Celsius compared to minus 10.0 degrees Celsius a day earlier.

It recorded the lowest temperature in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pahalgam tourist destination recorded a low of minus 8.7 degrees Celsius – up from the previous night’s minus 9.4 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Gulmarg tourist spot settled at minus 4.2 degrees Celsius – up from minus 5.5 degrees Celsius the night earlier.

Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 6.2 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag, in the south, minus 8.7 degrees Celsius.
