Srinagar: Kashmir valley plains, including Srinagar, got the season’s first snowfall during the night. While Srinagar get between 3-5 inches, the countryside snowfall varies between 2 feet and 6 inches.

Information and photos have been made available by the Disaster Management Department, Jammu & Kashmir. Since photos have mostly been shot on amateur cameras the quality may not be as desired.
Srinagar airport runway has been cleared of snow, and flight operations have begun as normal.

According to Disaster Management Department, J&K, Gulmarg and surrounding areas have received between 12-15″ snowfall, Tangmarg received 5-6″, while Baba Reshi 7-8″.

Snow depth in Bandipora District is as follows:
Dawar – 12″, Kanzalwan – 13″, Razdan top – 18″, Kudara – 8″, Surender – 7″, Athwatoo – 8″, Bandipora town – 2″.

Snow depth Kargil District
Panikhar: 12″, Minamarg: 7″, Rangdum: 5″, Drass-Sankoo: 4″, Zanskar: 2″, Kargil/Wakha: 1″, Chiktan: 4″.

Snow depth Anantnag District
Jawahar Tunnel: 5″, Pahalgam: 4″, Ashmuqam: 3″, Dooru, Verinag 2″

Snow depth in Kishtwar District
Marwah: 6-7″, Warwan: 8-9″, Machail: 7″, Ishtyari: 4-5″, Kishtwar, Padder, Dachan: 3-4″.
Snow accummulation in Budgam District:
Khag 6″-7″, Beerwa, Khansahib, Chadoora, Charisharief: 4″-5″, Budgam, Magam, Narbal and B. K pora: 2″-3″.
Snow accumulation in District Kulgam:
Aharbal 10″, Manzgam 8″, D.H Pora 6″, Malwan 5″, Kulgam 4″, Kund 8″.
Sonamarg 10″ fresh snow, Gund 5″, Kangan 4″, Ganderbal main 2″
Srinagar-Kargil road is through upto Gagangir.
