Licensing for fertilizers, pesticides to go online from January in Kashmir

Srinagar: Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today assumed the charge of Director Agriculture Kashmir. After assuming the charge as Director Agriculture, he inaugurated one day training program on business reform action plan 2020 held at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi.

The training program was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Extension Muhammad Muzaffer Hurra, Joint Director Agriculture Engineering Mohd Ilyas Khatib, Deputy Director Agriculture Central Dr. Waseem Ahmad Shah, Plant Protection Officer Kashmir, representatives of all Chief Agriculture Officers of Kashmir Division and computer knowing licence Dealing Assistants of the Department.

Speaking on the occasion Director Agriculture said this training program has been conducted to educate the officers and the field functionaries of the Department regarding successful implementation of business reform action plan 2020 for issuing fertilizer / pesticide licences (wholesale/retail) through online mode w.e.f 1st January 2020.

Director Agriculture said main objective of these types of training programs is to activate the concerned officers and fertilizer companies for early implementation of fertilizer training related reforms rolled out by Government of India. He exhorted upon the concerned officers to achieve 100% QR code installation, up gradation of PoS machines to 3.1 version and submission of the list thereof at an earliest.

He stressed upon the officers for liquidation of stocks held by the retailers in their PoS. He further said that fertilizer is the main input for agriculture and horticulture crops and any lacuna from any quarters is unacceptable in timely stocking/ supply of the fertilizers/pesticides in the valley.

Earlier, representative of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) provided the training support to the participants and the resource person from Department Afshan Hussain Zargar presented a detailed power point presentation regarding the operational procedures.

Later on Director convened an introductory meeting with the officers of the Department. He laid stress upon the officers of the Department to work in a mission mode for achieving 100% target both physical and financial under CAPEX as well as centrally sponsored schemes within stipulated time.

Earlier, employees of the Department welcomed Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal as Director Agriculture Kashmir and the administration especially Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Kumar Sinha, Advisor to Hon’ble LG Farooq Ahmad Khan, Chief Secretary B.V.R Subrahmanyam and Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department Navin Kumar Chowdhary for giving a due space by appointing a technical Director in Agriculture Department Kashmir.
