Fresh India Global Conference begins; J&K’s agri sector event on Saturday

Srinagar: Fresh India Show – 2020, a Global Virtual Conference, focused on the fresh produce of the agriculture sector, began on Friday morning. The conference, organized by Media Today Group, will be held on 18th and 19th December, 2020. This event is aimed at strengthening value addition in the fruit and vegetable sector and per capita capita incomes and availability.

A session on Jammu & Kashmir’s agriculture sector, “J&K Fruits & Vegetables Scenario – Prospects of Value Addition” is scheduled to be held on 19th December, 2020, focused on creating their forward linkage with the domestic and overseas markets and employment generation. Ziraat Times is a media partner for the event.

The speakers at the J&K event are: Manzoor Qadri (Director, Agriculture Department, Kashmir), Rahul Sahai, Chairman PHDCCI, Jammu region chapter, Arjimand Hussain (Founder, Ziraat Times), Bashir Ahmed Basheer (Chairman Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers) and Izhan Javeed (CEO, Fruit Master Pvt Ltd Kashmir)


Fresh India Show 2020 was launched last year in Delhi and was attended by over 250 fresh industry professionals and allied industries. Due to the pandemic situation, it has been decided to organize the 2nd edition of the event digitally keeping in mind the safety of the participants. 

“In this pandemic scenario, it has been noted that the per capita consumption of different fruits has increased between 15-25% and as per the trade sources the availability of F&V products will increase further in the coming years. Similar to last year, our vision is to attract more than 500 decision makers from different nations including the producers, wholesalers, e-retailers, importers and exporters, professionals from cold chain, logistics, supply chain and supporting industries. We are expecting online participants from 10+ countries”, M. B. Naqvi, chief coordinator of the Media Today Group told Ziraat Times.

Pertinently, the 2019 show had witnessed the presence of Indian fresh produce industry including ITC Group, Washington Apples, National Horticulture Board (NHB), Chilean Kiwi, USA Pears, Mother Dairy Fruits & Vegetables, Desai Fruits & Vegetables, Jain Fruits & Vegetables, Dawra Farms, Big Basket, Sahyadri Farms, Keep it Fresh, SFACH, Farm2U, Harshna Group, Punjab Agro, Golyan Agro, HPMF, Farmex Global, FIFI, Achiever’s Resources, Kaushalya Foundation, Reliance Fresh, Future Group, GT Fruits, Mahindra Agri, Rijkwan, Simply Fresh, Fruits India, Prime Fresh, Amazon, Suri AgroFresh, APEDA, Ministry of Agriculture, apart from embassies of Brazil, Canada, Iraq and Holland etc.
