Kashmir’s mountain heroes trek to clean up Srinagar hill

Srinagar: Several members of Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering and Hiking club on Sunday climbed up the Kohi Sulaiman/Shankaracharya hill in Srinagar and cleaned up the plastic and other garbage littered on the hill.

The club members, accompanied by its president Mahmood Ahmad Shah and senior members and other conservation enthusiasts trekked several trails of the hill and collected several sacks of litter from the hill.

The drive was arranged in memory Late Mohammad Ashraf (Ex-Director Tourism) who recently passed away. Mr Ashraf was a pioneer trekker and a key patron of mountaineering activities in Kashmir.
