G. C Murmu resigns as Lt. Governor of J&K

Srinagar: Less than a year after assuming office of the first Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, G. C. Murmu has reportedly tendered his resignation as J&K’s LG today.

This development comes right on the eve of the first anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, 35A and division of J&K State as two union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

Informed sources told Ziraat Times that Mr Murmu is set to be the next Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), taking over from Rajiv Mehrishi, who will retire this week.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Rajesh Mohar (Retired), former union Home Secretary, will be nominated as the new LG of UT of J&K and will take the charge tomorrow.

This is a developing story and will be updated as and when more details are available.
