CCIK poses 9 questions to J&K Admin; questions lockdown efficacy

ZT News Netwotk

Srinagar: The members of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industries (CCIK) today said in a statement that CCIK was ‘unable to understand the efficacy of the present lockdown for checking the spread of Covid -19.’

This lockdown was announced for curtailment in the rising cases of Covid-19 positives but the numbers suggest alarming increase in it, which is shocking. The members of the CCIK, through its President and Secretary General, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Khan and Tariq Rashid Ghani respectively, ask the powers that be:

  1. Why the business community is not taken on board while dwelling upon such stringent measures which are affecting them directly?
  2. Why is the outside work force allowed to enter the valley without screening for Covid-19?
  3. Why, in this manner, is the populace put to high risk by the local administration?
  4. Why is it that the positive cases have shown upward trend despite the lockdown?
  5. Why is the blame of spread of positive cases being shifted to the locals when the fault lies with the inefficient administration, which has allowed the import of work force without proper screening?
  6. Why are the Govt. and the semi Govt. agencies let loose after the business community for fees, registrations, renewals, this, that and the other when the Covid- 19 is ruling the valley, infact the whole world?
  7. Why the Govt. is making false promises in this behalf?
  8. Why are not the promises being fulfilled and the over enthusiastic authorities reigned in?
  9. Why besides the Govt authorities and doctors other experts like scientists, economists, businessmen and social activists are not involved on the Disaster management Board?

The members of the CCIK are eager to hear from the authorities on the ‘queries’ raised by them.
