Jammu: With relatively better performance of private schools continuing in board and competitive examination, the Private Schools’ Association today offered a unique Private Public partnership (PPP) to government by virtue of which private schools will provide quality education to all rich and poor students alike.
Private Schools’ Association of Jammu (PSAJ) said that the recent high pass percentage of private school students in secondary class in Jammu division is testimony to the hard work, dedication and quality education provided by these educational institutes.
“We are very happy with our performance and will like to further improve the pass percentage from 85 percent to 100 percent. But at the same time our heart goes with the students of government schools where around half of all students have failed for no fault of theirs,” said A R Verma spokesperson PSAJ.
“We would be more than glad to help all such students who want to learn but can’t get the quality education in government schools.” The Association offered a PPP model of education to accommodate each and every student from Jammu and Kashmir in its schools.
“The government annually spends Rs 12000 crore on education of poor children however given the present situation most of the students are not benefited. The money goes down the drain all due to bad policies and lack of accountability,” said Verma.
“We demand that government just allocate one fourth of the education budget towards private schools and we will bring quality education to all rich and poor students alike. No poor student will have to pay anything provided government takes their responsibility.”
The Association said that they are ready to give it in writing that performance of students of government schools will improve by leaps and bounds if such a PPP model in implemented.
“Every student will be benefited equally in terms of good education. Government is fee to penalise us in case we don’t remain true to our words,” said Verma.
The Association appealed the government functionaries and society members to think on the proposal and take forward the mission of quality education for all.
“Poor students should not be deprived of good education due to financial problems. We are ready to help them. Let the government take the first step,” said Verma.
