Horti Committee of PHDCCI Kashmir meets Director HPMC; discuss sectoral issues

Srinagar: A delegation of Horticulture Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Kashmir Chapter) had a meeting with Imam Din (KAS), Director Horticulture Planning & Marketing, J&K.  The members of Horticulture Committee had threadbare discussions for improving mobility and logistics for horticulture, making availability of Trucks for transportation of apples, parking areas for Trucks in Mandis, halt-free and hassle-free movement of Fruit Trucks on National Highways, a statement received by Ziraat Times said.

“The delegates also called for  implementation of Operation Green Scheme for all crops of J&K, implementation and awareness  of e-Nam platform to all Mandis, Controlled Atmosphere Marketing Retail Outlet Scheme for Entrepreneurs, the members also raised the important issue for macadamization, modernization of mandis and  procurement of C- Grade and Scabies apples through National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED)and also through JKHPMC”, the statement added.

The Director informed the delegation that for improving mobility and availability of trucks the department is working with RTO Kashmir and also at National level Kisaan Rath App has been launched on which a farmer or grower can book trucks online.

He also said that at UT level the department is going to notify the rates for trucks so that the growers will avail DBT 50% subsidy on Cost of Transportation of Fruits under operation Green.

Chamber congratulates Mr Imam for some major decision taken by the administration.

While concluding the meeting Director said that “he was very much impressed that the National Chamber is working at grass root level in UT of J&K with organized domain experts representing the specific sectoral issues of Horticulture with proper feedback and knowledge and he added that all the issues related to Planning & marketing of Horticulture sector raised by PHD Chamber will be discussed and resolved  with government and he promised that he will personally to look into it as an obligation and try to resolve whatever is possible at the earliest”, the press release said.
