J&K-PSA welcomes simplified NOC, compliance requirements for private schools

Association says ease of doing business reforms address long-standing demand

Srinagar, October 6: The Jammu & Kashmir Private Schools Association (J&K-PSA) has welcomed the government’s reported measures to simplify No Objection Certificate (NOC) and compliance requirements for private schools, describing the move as a step towards reducing procedural burdens on educational institutions.

The association said the reforms would help create a more streamlined regulatory environment for private schools and strengthen the partnership between the government and private education sector.

J&K-PSA Chief Patron G.N. Var met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and welcomed what the association described as reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business for schools.

The association said the measures address a long-standing demand of private educational institutions for simplification of regulatory procedures and reduction of repetitive compliance requirements.

J&K-PSA President Bilal Bhat said a positive regulatory approach could further strengthen cooperation between the government and private education sector.

“Positive regulatory approach can further strengthen government–private education partnership,” Bhat said.

General Secretary Syed Wani said reducing repetitive compliance requirements would enable schools to devote greater attention to their educational responsibilities.

“Reducing repetitive compliance will strengthen schools’ capacity to deliver quality education,” Wani said.

Director Media Dr Owais Mattoo said reducing unnecessary procedures would allow schools to focus more on teaching, learning and student welfare.

“Reducing unnecessary procedures will help schools focus more on teaching, learning and student welfare,” Mattoo said.

The association said it viewed the government’s approach as part of a broader effort to create a more facilitative regulatory environment for the education sector.
