JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 22: District Magistrate Jammu Rakesh Minhas has imposed a ban on the transportation of bovine animals from Jammu district to other districts without prior permission from the District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate.
The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), covers bovine animals including cows, buffaloes, oxen, bulls and calves.
The restriction will remain in force for two months from the date of issuance of the order, or until it is rescinded, whichever is earlier.
The District Magistrate said any violation of the order would invite punitive action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
