SRINAGAR, September 19, 2026: The Batamaloo Traders Association has elected Abrar Ahmad Khan as its new President and Waseem Afroz Khan as General Secretary following elections held at the association’s head office in Batamaloo.
The elections were conducted with participation from representatives of various markets and business units across the Batamaloo trading zone.
Khan and Khan defeated their respective competitors, Mehraj Ud Din Ganaie and Waseem Elahi Paul, in the election process.
The newly elected office bearers thanked market representatives and business owners for their participation and support.
They said their priorities would include raising trade-related concerns, addressing infrastructure and civic issues affecting the market, and working for the economic growth and welfare of the local business community.
The new leadership also said the association would work to maintain unity among traders, promote fair business practices and strengthen engagement between the commercial community and government authorities.
The Batamaloo Traders Association described the election as a democratic exercise involving representatives from markets and business units across the zone.
