Agriculture Dept reviews 2026-27 action plan, monitors progress of CAPEX, HADP and NABARD projects

Jammu, June 17: The Agriculture Department on Wednesday reviewed district-wise targets and implementation strategies under the Annual Action Plan (AAP) 2026-27, while also taking stock of the progress of infrastructure and development projects being executed under CAPEX, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), NABARD, JKCIP and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) across Jammu Division.

The review meeting was chaired by Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta, at the Directorate of Agriculture headquarters, where officials discussed priorities, implementation modalities and the physical and financial progress achieved under various schemes proposed for the coming financial year.

The meeting also examined the status of the tendering process for projects funded under CAPEX, HADP and NABARD, besides reviewing infrastructure assets created under HADP, Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP), CSS and other developmental programmes.

Gupta directed officers to ensure optimum utilisation of available funds, strict adherence to project timelines and close monitoring of ongoing works to expedite pending activities and achieve targets set for the current financial year.

He stressed the importance of regular field inspections, effective coordination among stakeholders and timely resolution of implementation bottlenecks to enhance the impact of agricultural development initiatives across the division.

The Director also called for focused efforts to ensure smooth execution of projects and better delivery of services aimed at strengthening the agriculture sector and improving outcomes for farmers.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Sanjay Anand, Joint Director Agriculture (SLUB/Farms) Aman Jyoti Sharma, Deputy Director Agriculture (Central) Sanjeev Rai Gupta, SMS (RL) Krishan Kant, SMS (RL) Dharmesh Vaid, Mushroom Development Officer Raghubir Paul Kochar, Assistant Entomologist Harvinder Singh, Spawn Production Officer Ashu Kakoria, Divisional Seed Certification Officer Jammu Nirmal Prakash Sharma and SDAO Marh Khalid Hassan. Chief Agriculture Officers from all districts of Jammu Division participated through virtual mode.
